Professor Gbolagade Adekanmbi obtained a doctoral degree in adult education in 1992, with a focus on distance education. He joined the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) University of Botswana in 1995. From 2008 to 2011, he was Deputy Director, Academic Programming at the Centre, and from 2009 to 2011, was the Centre’s Acting Director. Between 2017 and 2018, he was an Adjunct Professor at Botho University in Gaborone. A Kellogg Visiting Scholar to Syracuse University from February to March 1991, Professor Adekanmbi was honoured in 1992, with a UNESCO Special Mention, the International Award for Literacy Research. His research interests include trends in continuing, distance and higher education in sub-Saharan Africa. He is a reviewer for the International Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning (IRRODL). He is Dean in the School of Education since 2021 in Botswana Open University.
