Prof. KC Li is a well recognized scholar in the field of open education. He is the inaugural dean of the School of Open Learning of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU). He is concurrently serving at HKMU as the director of Research Affairs and Knowledge Transfer and director of the Institute for Research in Open and Innovative Education. He has also been appointed visiting professor by institutions such as Middlesex University of the United Kingdom, Hebei Academy of Social Sciences in China, and Hebei University of Economics and Business.Over 180 of his refereed journal articles,books and conference papers were published.He has written 8 monographs/textbooks, and is serving as an editor for Asian Association of Open Universities Journal and one of the editors for the 'Innovation and Technology in Education' section of SN Computing Science, guest editor for special issues of five renowned journals, as well as editorial board member for distinguished journals. Being keenly interested in research in innovative and open education, he has successfully obtained funding for a large number of research and development projects. He has earned three bachelor’s degrees, four master’s degrees and a PhD from renowned institutions, including the University of Hong Kong, Peking University and the University of London. He has also been awarded many professional qualifications such as Chartered Linguist and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
