Open University Malaysia ( OUM)
The Open University Malaysia (OUM), a private university offering primarily distance education, was established in 2000 by 11 public universities in Malaysia, with its main campus in Kuala Lumpur. It has 37 learning centres located nationwide, including 10 regional ones. The university aims to harness the experts and resources of the public universities to offer flexible academic and vocational courses. As a leading domestic distance- and open-education institute in Malaysia, the OUM is committed to making higher education accessible and affordable to anyone, especially working adults. The OUM’s motto is “The University of Choice for All”, which stresses democratic education.
